Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 10, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Free Social Media Scraper (the "Service"), operated by [Legal entity, TODO] ("we", "us", or "our"), handles information. Free Social Media Scraper is a general-purpose browser-automation extension. We designed it to keep your activity on your own device by default.
The short version
- Automation runs locally in your own browser, using your own access.
- Page content you mark or scrape stays in your browser. We do not send it to our servers, and we never sell it.
- If you create an account, we store your email address and your saved presets so we can sync them across your devices.
- We keep cookies and analytics to a minimum, and you can ask us to delete your data at any time.
1. How the Service works
Free Social Media Scraper runs entirely inside your own browser. When you mark steps on a page or replay a saved preset, the extension reads the page you are viewing and acts on it locally, using the access you already have. The content of the pages you interact with, including anything you mark or scrape, stays in your browser. It is not transmitted to us, and we do not sell it or share it with third parties for their own marketing.
2. Information we collect
Information stored locally on your device
Your presets and the page content you work with are stored locally in your browser. If you never create an account, this information stays on your device and is not sent to us.
Account information (only if you create an account)
If you choose to create an account for cloud sync, we store:
- Your email address, used to identify your account and to contact you about the Service.
- Your saved presets, so they can be synced across your devices. Presets describe the steps you set up, not the page content you scrape.
Creating an account is optional. The Service is fully usable without one; you simply will not have cross-device sync.
Waitlist information
If you join the waitlist, we store the email address you submit so we can let you know when the Service is available. You can ask us to remove it at any time.
3. Cookies and analytics
We keep cookies and analytics minimal. We use only what is needed to operate the website and to understand high-level, aggregate usage (such as page views) so we can improve the Service. We do not use this information to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell it.
4. How we use information
- To provide and maintain the Service, including account cloud sync.
- To respond to your requests and provide support.
- To send you Service-related messages, such as waitlist or availability updates.
- To keep the Service secure and to prevent abuse.
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not sell the page content you process with the Service.
5. How we share information
We do not sell your information. We may share limited information with service providers who help us operate the Service (for example, hosting or email delivery), and only to the extent needed to provide the Service. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, users, or the public.
6. Data retention and deletion
We keep account and waitlist information for as long as your account or waitlist entry is active, or as needed to provide the Service and meet legal obligations. You can ask us to delete your account data or waitlist entry at any time by contacting us, and we will do so within a reasonable period, unless we are required to retain it by law. Information stored only on your device can be removed by deleting your local data or uninstalling the extension.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate information.
- Request deletion of your information.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Request a portable copy of your information.
- Opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share your personal information in this way.
You will not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. To make a request, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the limited information we store. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be communicated where reasonable.
